Well I finally got my iphone yesterday, and I must say so far all has been well.
I was somewhat nervous, as it has been a while since ive used any of apple’s products, I haven’t sat at a mac since the old circa 1998 coloured blobs that were all the craze back then.
I will admit, whilst always being a Windoze user, apple have always seemed to stay true to their word producing very user friendly products. The Iphone is no different.
… of course that is once you get over the initial activation of the phone.
You see when I first opened the package, little did I realise that Id have to get onto the computer, download a 60meg download of itunes, and then plug the iphone into the usb port, in order activate. You also need to sign up to the apple store, and provide your credit card number before it will activate.
What if I dont have a credit card, apple? Im sure a “I do not wish to provide a credit card at this time” checkbox would suffice.
The intuitive interface is wonderful. The easy syncronization is a nice feature as well. This coming from someone who never really bothered using the feature on other phones because they just lacked features.
This is not to say that I didnt have trouble setting up the sync. I have all of my music on an external drive, and for some reason, with the combination that I have, I simply cannot syncronise my mp3s over. Others seem to be able to get through it and have it work, but Ive come up stumps with it and have simply decided to have the iTunes folder on one of my internal drives for the time being until I have the time to ‘play’ with it some more.
Once the activation and sync setup is over with I must say the user experience is truly gratifying.
Keep an eye out for more posts, as I get accustomed to it some more.
